Cousins

Reese is pretty cousin-rich.  She has two of the best cousins around.
Here is the little cutie with the other little cutie, Deakan.  Isn't he handsome?
Deakan and Reese and just right at 8 months apart.  And they get along great.  Last weekend they were giggling and playing on their Grammy's couch.  They love to play "get you" with adults and they both cackle.  The like to share things.  Even if they don't know it.  Ha ha!

This is Maggie.  She's 8 tomorrow.  Whoa!  Where did that time go?
They are quite the pair together.  When they are alone all a person can hear from their room is giggling.
Giggling.  And more giggling.

Deakan is getting ready to be a big brother.  I bet he's going to love having someone around to pick on.
I imagine he'll be the best big brother there ever was.  At the very least, he'll be the cutest.

And this little one will be 8 tomorrow.  I remember when she was born.
She was as sweet as a girl could be from the first few minutes I met her.

We are so lucky to have 2 great cousins for our little girl.
And I know when our little guy and his new little cousin arrive they will complement the group well!
We love you Deakan and Maggie.  Thank you for being your sweet selves!

My Two Year Old

Isn't she lovely?  Isn't she wonderful?
Isn't she precious, less than one minute old.

I never thought through love we'd be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn't she lovely made from love
 Isn't she pretty
Truly the angel's best

 Boy, I'm so happy
We have been heaven blessed

I can't believe what God has done
Through us he's given life to one
But isn't she lovely made from love

Happy Birthday, Sweet Baby Reese!

We love you so much.

Birthday Week, Day IV

I know a girl,
She puts the color inside of my world
But she's just like a maze
Where all of the walls all continually change

And I've done all I can
To stand on her steps with my heart in my hands
Now I'm starting to see
Maybe it's got nothing to do with me

Fathers, be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers, be good to your daughters too

Birthday Week, Day III

Oh, her eyes, her eyes, make the stars look like they're not shining
Her hair, her hair, falls perfectly without her trying
She's so beautiful, and I tell her every day

Yeah, I know, I know, when I compliment her she won't believe me
And it's so, it's so, sad to think that she don't see what I see
But every time she asks me do I look ok, I say

When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing, just the way you are
And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for a while
Because girl you're amazing, just the way you are(yeah)

Birthday Week, Day II

She's got a smile that it seems to me

Reminds me of childhood memories

Where everything

Was as fresh as the bright blue sky

Now and then when I see her face

She takes me away to that special place

And if I'd stare too long

I'd probably break down and cry

Sweet child o' mine

Sweet love of mine

Reese's Birthday Week!

There once was a girl
With a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead
And when she was good, she was very, very good.
And when she was bad she was horrid.

My daughter made me angry yesterday.  Angry, ANGRY.  She was horrid.  And I was sadly disappointed in all that is Halloween.

I wish I had a picture of my girl standing on the door step with a bucket to go trick or treating.  I wish I had a girl standing there with a costume on.  But instead I have a bruise from the kicking and screaming fit she had because I wanted her to put on a costume.  So, I gave up.  Took the costume off and cried all night instead.

She was horrid.

But this is her birthday week.  It's getting close to the big day.  The TWO.  The Terrible TWO!  I caught a glimpse of that yesterday.

So in her honor I leave the poem about girls.  It's true.  Because this morning when she crawled in to bed with me to watch Mickey I couldn't help but smile at the sweet baby hands that played with my hair.  When she is good, she is very, very good, with just a touch of horrid when she knows I hate it the most.
